After years of hard work and all the progress of the Women’s Movement, we have come a long way – but we still have a distance to go. Men, too, have their own distance. But, fundamentally, we all ask the same question: Where do I fit? What’s my deal?
Advertising, conversations, media, fashion, current events – all these are great influences on my work. This barrage of images is my comfort and my muse. It’s what I yearn to wake to. I love to look at this world. I create fantasy tableaus to address these influences – to find footing in a world that keps moving, sometimes forward, sometimes back.
This is my work. Feminist at its core, it grows and spreads to encompass the desires, the dreams, the disappointments we all share. It is our longing to belong.
